A truly unique Ferrari SP38

Some big lucky are not satisfied with the exclusivity of a Ferrari called "ordinary". That's why the legendary Italian brand sometimes creates ultra-rare racing cars such as the SP38, which it has just revealed. The car was assembled for "one of Ferrari's most dedicated customers", a "great racing enthusiast".

Cut for both the road and for the circuits, covered with three layers of a metallic red paint, elaborated from a 488 GTB, the car is equipped with a bi-turbo engine with double air exchanger inspired of the F40. Immediately after the delivery of the vehicle to this loyal customer of Ferrari, the SP38 has made some very hot laps on the circuit of Fiorano in Italy.

The visual mass of this SP38 seems concentrated at the rear, where the round lights are split and concealed under a black band. The rear window gives way to louvers. The flanks have been totally reworked. Seen from above, the front end shield of the car stretches to arches of muscular wheels to offer the car "power and agility," according to Ferrari. The optics of this creation have been designed to be as thin as possible. The air intake is completely concealed on the side of the car.

Unfortunately, Ferrari does not reveal any details about the engine. This is probably the 3.8-liter V8 bi-turbo of the 488, which develops 660 horsepower and 760 Nm of torque.

The car will be exhibited at the Villa d'Este Concours d'Elegance on the shores of Lake Como on May 26th.
